There has been an ongoing issue with 2002-2014 BMW V8 engine Valve Stem Seals. Along with unsightly clouds of smoke while driving around town (mainly occuring after idling at stop lights), the issue is also causing many of these cars to fail the visual portion of the California Smog Test.
Not every engine has been afflicted with this problem. The problem persists on many BMW V8 engines from 2002 to about 2014. It seems that the cars that have had oil changes performed at greater intervals than recommended by the onboard CBS reminder system, have not been affected by this problem; but the valve stem seal issue is common enough to both warrant this explanation as well as provided Marco Polo Independent enough opportunites in diagnosing and repairing this inherant valve stem seal problem to have honed our repair methods to perfection.
If your BMW smokes badly after idling at every stop light then you need this repair. It's embarrassing for all of us to have these cars out there dirtying the air and giving BMW a bad image.
Call us for an estimate and rapid repair turn around time if you have one of these wonderful but smoking engines.
